Getting There

The Grand Canyon

Driving I-40 and Route 66
Train via Amtrak & The Grand Canyon Railroad
Air & Bus via Las Vegas

You have three ways to get to The Grand Canyon.

The most spectacular is to make it a classic road trip on Old Route 66. I-40 has officially replaced Route 66, but much of the Mother Road remains in place, and many of the 1940s and 1950s motels and restaurants are still there.

The second option is to come in by train. Since people came in by train before highways were built, this is the most historic. And the combination of Amtrak and The Grand Canyon Railroad offer a tremendous travel experience.

However, you can also fly into Las Vegas, stay a night, then take Grand Canyon Bus Tours to your South Rim hotel, or rent a car and drive to the South Rim.
